Clint419 Returns to His Old School: Inside the Nike x Corteiz Football Camps
Before the guerrilla drops and the Nike collaborations, Clint Ogbonna was an A-Level student at Gunnersbury Catholic School in Brentford. This summer he went back — with a football camp for over 100 kids from West London.
There's a version of Corteiz that everyone knows: the password-gated site, the coordinates dropped on X, the queues that shut down streets. And then there's this one.
This summer, Clint419 ran the Nike x Corteiz Football Camps — a programme for over 100 young people aged 11 to 14, based at his old school, Gunnersbury Catholic School in Brentford, West London. He studied there. He came back to run it.
Not just football
The football side is delivered with Football Beyond Borders, the charity that uses the sport as a route into education and support for young people who need it.
But mornings on the pitch are only half of it. The afternoons are workshops — art, design, business, entrepreneurship — run by people who actually do the work:
- JAGS, the graphic designer behind Corteiz
- FEM of NLSB
- Latya Bennett of Latya's Art
- Hillary Xherimeja, founder of SONDR
Media, music and creative sessions came from Johannes Sasay-Wada of @actually.creative, Henry Goodfellow, FaWaZ Thompson of Stay Solid Music, and Ellis Gilbert of Talk Nice Studios.
Why this is the more interesting Corteiz story
Corteiz has always been a West London brand before it was a global one. The travel-card exchange in Soho, the 99p market stall, the drops announced by coordinates — the whole thing was built on treating its own community as the point rather than the marketing.
A football camp at the school Clint went to is that same idea, without a product attached. There's nothing to buy at the end of it.
Selwyn Boothe, the school's Educational Pastoral Mentor, put it plainly in the school's write-up: success isn't only about what you achieve, but about what you give back.
